Summer Celebration

Friday saw us hold our annual summer bbq. It was great to get the teams from the office and sites together to celebrate our success so far this year, let our hair down and thank everyone for their continued hard work.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for a party on the beach and a great time was had by all.

Moving It at Morrisons

Planting 2,500 Shrubs in a Day for Princebuild
The team had a brilliant day this week managing to set out and plant an impressive 2,500 shrubs in one visit.  This also included excavating the planting beds and laying topsoil.

This is our first project working with Princebuild, providing soft landscaping for a new Morrisons supermarket in Little Clacton on the Essex coast.

The works to the whole site consists of planting 19 trees, including double staking and irrigation, over 5,500 shrubs, preparing for and sowing over 500m² of wildflower seed, topsoiling, mulching and the installation of 13 bat and bird boxes.

Check back here soon for some photographs and further information on the finished project. For a speedy solution for your next soft landscaping project please contact us.

The Sleeping Giant Arrives

When your delivery arrives looking like a sleeping giant, you know the scheme is about to come alive with some stunning trees.

We are looking forward to seeing these trees standing proud very soon on one of our projects, this one at Kings College in Cambridge.

We are working on the soft landscaping around Croft Gardens, new residential accommodation for students and fellows. The scheme provides high-quality architecture, which will complement the conservation area setting, including generous gardens and communal areas.

This project includes planting of over 250 trees and over 4,500 shrubs, plus hedges,  herbaceous plants and grass seeding. We are also installing tree irrigation and anchoring, plus over 2,000 tons of subsoil and topsoil

The trees under the covers on the lorry have been supplied by Hilliers. Check back here soon for some photos of the completed project, when the wraps come off. For a quotation for your next soft landscaping project please contact us.

Planting a Tree for the Jubilee

Panoramic Helps The Women’s Fellowship in Fairlight

One of the members of The Women’s Fellowship at St Peter’s Church in Fairlight thought it would be good to take part in the Queen’s request for everyone to plant a tree to mark her platinum jubilee. Whilst they contacted us to ask what tree would be most suitable, we went on to supply and plant the tree for free.

The Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) is a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

Planting a Tree for the Jubilee

Everyone from individuals to groups, villages, towns, cities, counties, churches, schools and corporates are being encouraged to play their part to enhance the environment by planting trees. Planting will run through to the end of the Jubilee year.

St Peter’s Church is located to the west of our office in Hastings within the United Parish of Pett, Guestling and Fairlight. The church was first opened in a converted military hut in 1947. In 1968 this was found to be in an advanced state of decay and a replacement was consecrated in 1970.

We reviewed the planned location and we suggested Prunus Subhirtella autumnalis, a winter flowering cherry tree. The tree is planted in a prominent place where it can be seen by passers-by in the village. They sent photos along with a nice letter of thanks.

Please contact us with your commercial tree planting requirements.

Down on the Farmstead

Landscaping at Linmere

We recently completed a project for Ashe Construction, The Farmstead at Linmere.

Linmere is set to be a vibrant new community near Houghton Regis in South Bedfordshire. The extensive development includes new homes, schools, community facilities, open spaces for recreation and wellness, plus focused retail units to engender a real sense of belonging for all residents.

Over the next 15 years, around 5,000 homes of mixed size, price and tenure will be built in a series of interlinked neighbourhoods. The Farmstead is the heart and soul of Linmere; a lively destination where residents, locals and visitors can gather.

Set adjacent to Linmere Park, The Farmstead consists of three new barn style buildings arranged around a central courtyard and a nature-inspired children’s adventure playground. The buildings include an artisan café, a studio for yoga classes etc, a community hall and meeting rooms, plus a shared workspace.

We completed the soft landscaping of the area around The Farmstead, car park and playpark. This included the planting of eleven trees, instant hedging, conifers, grasses and over 2,500 shrubs. We also installed Rootspace systems to two of the trees.

The project also included topsoil provision, shrub guards, staking to trees and mulch. The work spanned a period over four months and we now start our twelve month ongoing maintenance schedule.

To see a time-lapsed video of Ashe Construction building, The Farmstead, with the Panoramic team undertaking the soft landscaping at 1:30, please see the Linmere website.
